It’s time to start thinking about the cooler weather to come and some dresses that better suit, whether in terms of the material, colours or fit. Think sleeves, warmer and richer autumn colours and a little more coverage all round.
Some of the colours which reflect autumn just beautifully include shades of orange, burgundy, purple and dark green. But they aren’t the only ones – just think of any earthy and warm, deep colours that remind you of all those lovely autumn leaves.
So without further ado here are just a few suggestions of vintage style dresses which will be perfect for autumn.
Fifi is a classic vintage style dress with a two toned look to add a twist. It has short sleeves for some extra coverage and warmth on the arms as well as a flattering retro inspired cinched waist with an A line skirt. The colour-blocking makes it a bold look which not only gives it a lift but it still makes it a great dress for the office.
The Amanda Orange Floral 50s Pencil Dress has those beautiful rich autumn leaf colours, combining two different shades of orange with black. Plus, of course, it has a leaf pattern, which makes it even more appropriate for the season. We especially love the cross over hemline, which adds even more interest to the dress. Pair it up with a black cardigan or blazer for a great look.
The Jodie Olive Vintage Style Pencil Dress is a sleek and sophisticated sheath dress which will see you ready for business. Plus the olive colour is an ideal muted autumn hue. This dress would easily work with some black opaque tights and ankle or knee-high boots. Add a cardigan or dark coloured blazer and scarf to change up the look and keep warm.
The Vera Navy Blue is a gorgeous dark blue dress with a full swing skirt and flattering crossover bustline. Plus it has a tie at the back which you can see in the red version of the dress below. It’s one of our most popular dresses and that’s because it’s a flattering vintage style classic. You could wear it with a cardigan for a classic 50s look, or it would even work with a shirt and jumper over top.
The gorgeous Vera also comes in a dynamite striking red colour. Although it’s not a typical autumn colour, sometimes it’s nice to add a bit of brightness through your outfit when the weather outside is looking a bit grey. In this photo we’re showing you the back of the Vera dress so you can see just how cute it looks from the back as well with it’s adorable tie which you can tie into a bow like the picture or do a simple knot so it hangs down.
And that’s our round-up of some more autumn-friendly and vintage style autumn dresses. It’s a chance to finally pull out some of those cosy warmer clothes and to get out there and enjoy the colours of the falling leaves and the cool air before it gets too cold. Such a gorgeous season!
